Optimus 3D provides engineering and part manufacturing solutions, using different Additive Manufacturing technologies, both in plastic materials or resins as well as metals, in different high-tech markets such as the automotive, aerospace, industrial, and medical sectors.

Optimus 3D collaborated with Bioef and the Osakidetza-Basurto traumatology team to 3D scan the hand of a patient who suffers from rhizarthrosis. The scan was then used to design a customized orthosis for the patient.

The mesh derived from the map of points generated by the 3D scanner allowed the team to design a model that is fully customized for the patient. With CAD 3D tools, they can continue to optimize the design to obtain lighter models, reduce material, and improve ergonomics.
